While the Nelson Tasman Housing Trust's homes are designed to be warm and energy-efficient, they still need airing every day to remove moisture that occurs from people breathing, cooking and so
on. Here are some tips for keeping your home well ventilated:
- Open windows for at least a few minutes every day to let fresh air into the house and remove moisture.
- Reduce the amount of moisture in the air by using the kitchen rangehood when cooking and the bathroom extractor fan when showering.
- Hang washing outside to dry. If you dry clothes inside, it will create extra moisture.
- Keep a small gap between furniture and walls to help air circulate.
