Nelson Tasman Housing Trust has entered into an agreement with local iwi Ngāti Kuia to manage the tenancies of its new papakāinga on Nayland Rd, Stoke.
These five rental homes are for registered members of Ngāti Kuia who are currently renting and saving to buy their first home. They will be able to rent a home for a fixed term - such as two or
three years - while they continue saving for a deposit and prepare to purchase their own home. Financial education for participating whānau is being provided by Ka Uruora.
Nelson Tasman Housing Trust director Carrie Mozena said the trust is delighted to partner with Ngāti Kuia and support its initiative to provide whānau with a secure pathway to home ownership.
