Nelson Tasman Housing Trust plans to develop 14 homes for older people at 92 Bateup Rd, Richmond. The development will consist of 6 one-bedroom and 8 two-bedroom homes and 8 will be accessible and designed to accommodate the needs of people with disabilities.
Nelson Tasman Housing Trust director Carrie Mozena said the trust was pleased to be able to develop more homes in Richmond, since most of its homes were in Nelson. Construction was expected to start before winter next year and the homes were projected to be completed in April 2027.
The trust has entered into an agreement with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to provide social housing, so all the homes will be for people on the Housing Register.
