The Nelson City Council has approved a proposal to make $2 million of its housing reserve fund available for housing projects catering for low-to-moderate income households.
Nelson Tasman Housing Trust director Carrie Mozena told councillors she strongly supported the proposal, at a council meeting this week. She said it would accelerate the building of more affordable housing in Nelson. The trust had a project ready to apply with, which would deliver 5 homes, she said.
Here is a Stuff article which includes her comments made at the meeting.
